Attorney, Of CounselSchedule a Consultation
Heather L. Johnson was born and raised in upstate New York. She received her Juris Doctorate from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. Prior to law school, Heather earned
her undergraduate degree from Spelman College. She is also an ordained minister and has a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology, Emory University. It was during this pursuit that sparked Heather’s interest in the practice of law.
While a seminary student, Heather took advantage of an opportunity to take a Constitutional law and religion class offered by Emory’s law school. One day after class, her professor pulled her aside and encouraged her to seriously consider a career in law citing her analytical skill. This conversation started her journey into the practice of law.
Heather witnessed the importance of probate law while performing ministerial duties:
“After someone you love passes away, family and friends come to the house. They bring various dishes, offer hugs, promising to be ‘there’ if needed. However, after the funeral or even before, families are often left with the gigantic task of settling the affairs of an estate alone while going through the grieving process.”
Heather values the opportunity to “be there” for those who are dealing with estate issues during trying times. She enjoys working for GPLG because of its commitment to provide each individual client with services tailored to them providing the best possible outcome.
In her spare time, Heather is an avid reader, creatively writes and occasionally paints.
